Autumn, 2012

A quick overview of how everything is moving in the House O’Quill:

MSG – Medium Sized Guy – is in the fifth grade.  He is now being taught directly about autism insofar as he is asking questions and getting answers. It hasn’t been something he has been directly instructed in, by and large, except to say that his mind is different and wonderful and that we love how he thinks. Except when he in so contrary that it is incapacitating.  So that’s good.  He wanted to take the violin at school, so he’s doing that, too, and is enjoying the instrument very much at this point.  I never took music lessons, so have no clue here, but my husband was in band and can speak the language.  MSG is still on medication in the morning and evening, is doing pretty well with daily challenges at school, though he rarely has an entirely perfect day, and is looking forward to the year’s first snowfall.

David – fka Cyclone – is in his freshman year of college. Studying web based graphic design, he also is interested in cinematic history. So his classes are tending thus at present.  He is working on my first-ever book trailer for Éire’s Captive Moon. It would be good for a future CV for him, I think and if it goes well, I’ll even pay him next time. This time, though, I figure it’s a learning experience and we’ll both benefit.

Spousal Unit – is awesome. 🙂

Me – aka Your Host – Preparing for the holidays and trying to persuade my guys to give me their Christmas lists. lol It’s like pulling teeth. We are not, by and large, a family that has a perpetual list of “gimmes.” MSG’s wishes notwithstanding (the boy would need an entire estate of his own to satisfy his cycling interests).  Work-wise, I’m writing Éire’s Viking, the sequel to Éire’s Captive Moon, editing An Unexpected Woman with my editing team at TWCS, researching updates for Silent Music just in case, and doing some advance research for the third book in the Éire’s Viking Trilogy (the plot is … there, pretty much, but I will need details!) and a book I have barely only started.

Someday, I really need to finish In the Name of Duty, I know.  🙂

So, here as we are in the final quarter of 2012, all is peaceful and productive in the House O’Quill.

Things are indeed progressing. 🙂 Own the years, Warren. 😉 You don’t have to feel old, though. You’re getting a new start yourself, yeah? 🙂

It IS cool, for me, to remember that you and David and I did lunch at McD’s once upon an afternoon. lol That’s a lot of years. Which is a good thing. 🙂
